Greening Black Friday

November 21, 2011

Black Friday is coming up.  Whether you’re planning brave the lines, or just stay home for Buy Nothing Day, it’s a big deal. It’s America’s biggest shopping extravaganza of the year – a “carnival of capitalism” according to the New York Times.  Usually, it’s not very green, resulting in lots of plastic bag waste.  This year, the Green Life is working to make Black Friday a Green Friday.  And we need your help!

Please take the Bag Brigade pledge to reduce plastic bag waste.  And then spread the word!

Bringing a reusable bag is one of the easiest ways to be a little greener.  What’s more, we know that making small, simple green choices leads to bigger ones.  What will we fill those reusable bags with?  With green living on the mind, we hope you’ll buy green gifts, too: organic cotton clothing, BPA-free water bottles, organic treats, and more reusable bags for family and friends.
